The Zakat Formula

Zakat is calculated at a fixed rate of 2.5% (or 1/40th) on net wealth that has reached or exceeded the minimum threshold (Nisab) for one full lunar year (Hawl):

Nisab Threshold = 85 grams * Gold Price per Gram
Net Zakatable Assets = (Cash + Investment Gold + Inventory) – Liabilities
Zakat Payable = Net Zakatable Assets * 2.5% (If Net Assets >= Nisab)
